What you cannot change, you must learn to love." This Latin phrase, amor fati, encapsulates a powerful philosophy: loving one's fate, including the hardships and challenges.
Whether you believe in "fate" or not it is a concept that provides an interesting and powerful framework for happiness, that for me is well worth discussing..
It's a concept that I resisted and struggled against for so many years as my natural instinct is to attempt to control everything in my life. In recent times however, I have chosen to embrace it, when I finally realised that the only real control I have is over the present moment and how I react to life's events and challenges.
It may sound like a surrender, but over time it is where I have found my peace.
Each of our life chapters provide a unique experience that continues to shape who we become. Yet, I've come to realise that each of these chapters, no matter how difficult they are, become an essential part of our fabric and the story of who we become and the impact we can make on others.
Amor fati has allowed me to embrace both the "good" and the "bad" To see beauty in chaos, and although it never takes away the pain of hard times it allows my personal compass to stay aligned.
As I look ahead to the next life chapter that is opening for me I'm ready to embrace what awaits me as it is a chapter that I wish to share with as many people as possible!
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
